Princeton's Leading
Antisemite
Overview
Jennifer Chavez-Veyna blamed Israel for Hamas war crimes and expressed [slide 46] support for terrorists during an Israeli war against Hamas in 2023.
Chavez-Veyna made these remarks following a series of Hamas terror attacks and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023.
The Hamas terror attacks left over 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”
Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 2] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

Blaming Israel for Hamas War Crimes
On November 9, 2023, Chavez-Veyna was featured as a speaker at an anti-Israel rally on the Princeton University (Princeton) campus. The protest was organized by the Princeton Committee on Palestine (PCP), the chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at the university.
At the rally, Chavez-Veyna gave a speech in which she reportedly said: “this [Israel-Hamas war] did not begin on October 7th; this began the second Israeli colonial feet stepped on indigenous Palestinian land and claimed it as their own.”
During the event, anti-Israel protesters reportedly chanted: “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free!” and “There is only one solution: Intifada revolution!”
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free” is a chant calling to dismantle the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state.
The term “intifada,” which translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection,” carries the connotation of violence. Palestinian intifadas waged against Israel have been marked since 1987 by hundreds of hijackings, shootings, stabbings, bombings and suicide missions.
On October 31, 2023, Chavez-Veyna shared [slide 50] on her Instagram Stories Highlights titled: “PS,” a post that said: “I will never, ever condemn hamas. I will only, I repeat, ONLY ever condemn Israel for creating the misery, destruction, & desperation which led directly to the need for hamas. the blood of every single person, Palestinian or Israeli, killed in this occupation is solely & entirely on Israel’s hands.”
Support for Terrorists (Hamas)
On October 31, 2023, Chavez-Veyna shared [slide 51] on her Instagram Stories Highlights titled: “PS,” a post that said: “…Hamas is not an army. Hamas is a resistance movement. Colonised people have the right to armed resistance…”
Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” can be a euphemism for nationalistic terror. It is often used to excuse or even glorify anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence.
On October 29, 2023, Chavez-Veyna shared [slide 46] on her Instagram Stories Highlights titled: “PS,” a post in support of Palestinian terrorist Ahmad Manasra.
Ahmed Manasra (sometimes spelled Mansara) and his 15-year-old cousin Hassan went on a stabbing spree in Jerusalem on October 12, 2015, during the Knife Intifada. They critically wounded a 13-year-old boy and moderately wounded a 25-year-old man. The spree ended when police shot Hassan and a passing motorist hit Ahmed. Ahmed was taken to an Israeli hospital. He admitted to investigators: “I went there to stab Jews.” He was later tried and convicted on two counts of attempted murder.
